Every item here is free software with an active upstream, an auditable codebase and no licence that can be revoked. We have strong preferences about tooling, and these are them. Each one has a page explaining why we use it and where it stops being the right answer.

What we leave out.
A tooling page should also say what it excludes. We do not build on platforms that cannot be self-hosted, licences that meter users, or managed services with no open-source equivalent to fall back to. That rules out a great deal of otherwise decent software.
It also rules out whatever is fashionable. We have seen enough frameworks arrive with a conference talk and leave with a deprecation notice to be suspicious of anything that has not lasted a decade.
